The Perry Lab is recruiting!

PhD Students

The lab is actively recruiting PhD students to start in Fall 2026! Students interested in functional genomics, adaptation, gene regulation, genome biology, and/or physiology are encouraged to apply!

  • Potential thesis topics include:
    • genomic mechanisms of venom variation in North American rattlesnakes
    • evolution of metabolic signaling pathways underlying hibernation in mammals and beyond
    • unique evolutionary and functional consequences of microchromosomes
    • I am also open to students developing other projects relevant to the interests and goals of the lab!

Postdoctoral Researchers

The lab is actively recruiting a postdoc to start as early as January 2026! Prospective postdocs interested in developing and leading projects broadly in line with the lab’s research interests are encouraged to reach apply.

This position can be funded either through startup funds or through external fellowships. Prospective postdocs with experience in functional genomics and/or bioinformatics are particularly encouraged to apply.
